Bernhard Mühleder, born 1981 near Mauthausen, completed an apprenticeship as a bank clerk and then as a carpenter. Later he completed training in cultural management and memorial pedagogy in Linz. In 2001, he started to work for Mauthausen Memorial for the first time as a civil servant. Since 2010, he has been working as a guide for the Memorials Mauthausen and Gusen. He also conducted research as an interviewer for the new exhibition at the Mauthausen Memorial and for different educational projects. In 2016, he started to work as a full member of the pedagogic department, especially in the area of project management, education and training for guides as well as setting up educational programs for the memorial site Gusen.
