Controlled vocabularies play a key role in the annotation of both audiovisual and non-audiovisual documents to make them findable, explorable, and comparable. In this 1.5 day workshop, VHH Team Members involved in creating and applying controlled vocabularies meet to reach a joint understanding of the metadata standard and schema providing the framework for these controlled vocabularies, of their function in manual and automated text and film analysis, and of the steps still to be taken in the process of creating and consolidating vocabularies. Existing vocabularies to be reused are revisited, newly created vocabularies discussed. The focus of this workshop lies on descriptive vocabularies. As regards analytic vocabularies, an updated draft of the Taxonomy of Relations is presented.
