max.recall information systems GmbH is an Austrian company focusing on solving complex, data-related challenges. The team consist of six highly skilled experts in the fields of Data Management, Intelligent Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Search and Natural Language Processing. All team members have academic backgrounds and have gained extensive engineering experience over several years. The founders have gained more than 17 years of experience in academic & industrial R&D and published more than 100 scientific publications in these fields. These competencies facilitate the efficient gain of contextual understanding of complex business cases of customers and to implement the most adequate solutions.
max.recall operates worldwide with a focus on Europe and US and their international customers come from diverse sectors: news agencies, consulting firms, public sector, intellectual property agencies, market research firms, IT service providers, etc.
The mission of max.recall is the creation of the most adequate solution for customer needs – and the team follows this mission since the founding of max.recall in 2011. To this end, max.recall follows a flexible and agile process  – always having a sympathetic ear for the requirements of their customers.

Customized Solutions: The team is all about data mining, data provisioning and APIs. To this end, data from different sources are integrated, combined, harmonized and refined with the most effective approaches.
Products: Working with customers has led to the development of effective responses tackling specific challenges through dedicated products: SMARTCODER (www.smartcoder.at) supports market research tasks, QUANTALYZE (www.quantalyze.com) simplifies complex research tasks in science and technology. TENDERA (www.tendera.at) is an online service to search Austrian tenders and to analyze where the public monies go.
Consulting: Over the years, the team has gained more than 150 years of experience in solving data analytics and data management challenges. These experiences and insights are used to individually accompany and advise max.recall’s clients.

Role in the Project

max.recall is work package leader in charge of the design and development of the Visual History of the Holocaust Media Management and Search Infrastructure (VHH-MMSI). Drawing on their extensive experience with data aggregation and analysis as well as high volume data processing, max.recall is thus responsible for the elicitation of requirements and the design, development and implementation of the VHH platform. This whole process is carried out in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders (in particular with LBI and OFM, and with TU Wien regarding the integration of media analytics components).
